Allen & Gledhill advised Fairmont Raffles Hotels International in the completion of the disposal of 100% of Beach Road Hotel which owned Raffles Hotel Singapore, worth around $275million. Raffles International entered into hotel management contracts with Beach Road Hotel, as a result of this sale. Advising Fairmont Raffles Hotels were partners Steven Seow and Oh Hsiu Hau and Advising Raffles International were partners Steven Seow, Regina See, and Tham Kok Leong.

Allen & Gledhill also advised Borders Pte in the application for judicial management as part of their continuous restructuring of the Borders chain stores in Singapore. Edward Tiong, Andrew Chan, and Kenneth Lim, all partners, led the deal.

Eversheds advised Lundbeck in establishing a new research center in Shanghai. The new center will establish the company’s position as a global pharmaceutical company while creating opportunities for entering into research collaborations with businesses and universities. Nikolaj Juhl Hansen and Jean-Marc Deschandol, partners, led the transaction.

Jones Day advised Belle Corporation in their $103million rights issue, proceeds which will find the completion of their integrated resort and casino. Joe Bauerschmidt, Joy Choynowska, and Oscar Franklin Tan led the deal and Tan Venturanza Valdez advised on Philippine Law.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques advised Global Television, and Australian company, in their acquisition of Cutting Edge’s outside broadcasting business and simultaneous refinancing of GTV’s existing debt facilities. Lee Horan and Richard Hayes, partners, led the deal, while Clayton Utz acted for the banks. McCullough Robertson acted for Cutting Edge.

Paul Hastings advised Maker Maxity in the signing of definitive agreements with MGM Hospitality, in the development and operation of a Bellagio Hotel for a development complex in Mumbai, India. David Blumenfeld, Rick Kirkbride, and Philip Feder, all partners, led the deal.

Simmons & Simmons advised manager Sun Hung Kai Investment Services in a $15.74million convertible bond issue by Garden Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Beverage Company, a Hong Kong juice firm. The convertible bond offering is a pre-IPO offering. Paul Browne, partner, led the deal.
